BALRAMPUR/LUCKNOW: In a veiled attack on Congress and the Nehru
family, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Monday that 'accidental
Hindus' are not able to digest the honour conferred on Gorakhpur's Gita
Press.
Inaugurating a Tharu Tribal Museum and Tharu Tribal Exhibition
in Balrampur, the CM stated, "Gita Press has been serving Sanatan Hindu
Dharma for a century. Sanatan Hindu Dharma paves the way for the
welfare of humanity and gives the message of 'Sarve Bhavantu Sukhinah'
(happiness and welfare of all) and 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam' (The World Is
One Family."
He said: "It is a matter of pride that this publication has received the prize."
Expressing
his displeasure over the statement of Congress leaders against the
honour given to Gita Press, chief minister Yogi said, “Being so
disrespectful towards the country's heritage is utter shamelessness on
the part of Congress.
Gita Press has been publishing religious
literature for the past 100 years. Without the help of the government
and at a low cost, it has served as the centre for the publication of
all forms of religious literature, such as the Gita, the Vedas, the
Ramayana, and the Ramcharitmanas.”
The CM said the tribal community
has a glorious past in India. Protecting the forests was another duty
they have taken on. The tribal community is attached to its roots. The
current global warming crisis would not exist if the world had preserved
its heritage by taking lessons from our tribal community, he pointed
out.
He said that in order to show respect for the tribal
community, Prime Minister Narendra Modi began observing November 15 as
Tribal Day, the day of Lord Birsa Munda's birth. The reason for
celebrating this day is the glorious past of Lord Birsa Munda, and how
he gave a befitting reply to foreign invaders.
This Tharu museum is
the honor of our tribal community. The state's tribal communities,
including the Tharu, God, Baksa, Cheru, and Saharia, will be brought to
100% saturation, said Yogi. “The task of giving land pattas to families
without land will be completed.
Such amendments have already been
made under the Forest Rights Act. The government will construct ‘pucca
houses’ for those who do not already have one. Toilets will be built,
ration cards will be made available, and they will be connected to
programs like the destitute women pension scheme, old age pension
scheme, and divyangjan pension scheme. Health insurance cover will also
be given under the Ayushman Bharat scheme,” Yogi said.
